Frequently asked questions
- How do guests use it?
- On most modern phones they just open the camera and point it at the code — a prompt appears to join the network. No app required on iOS or recent Android.
- Is my WiFi password safe?
- Yes. The code is built entirely in your browser and the password is never sent anywhere. Anyone who can scan the printed code can read the password, though — so place it only where you would share WiFi access anyway.
- Does it work for hidden networks?
- Yes. Tick the “hidden network” option and the code includes the flag phones need to connect to a non-broadcast SSID.
- Which security types are supported?
- WPA/WPA2/WPA3 (the common choice), WEP for older gear, and “no password” for open networks.
- Is my data sent to a server?
- No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your links, contact details, WiFi password and images never leave your device — nothing is uploaded, logged or stored.
